We are currently seeking an exceptional, dynamic, and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) for our boutique CPA firm. Our firm is a highly reputable entity in the Accounting and Finance industry, known for our commitment to superior client service, professionalism, and innovative approach. The COO will play a pivotal role in the overall management of the firm, ensuring streamlined operations, increased productivity, and the achievement of strategic goals. This is a permanent position that requires a leader with a strong operational background and a proven track record in managing and growing a successful organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the firm, ensuring efficient and effective execution of processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and other senior leaders to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the firm.
  • Directly manage the firm's partners, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the firm's financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and analysis.
  • Develop and implement robust operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and systems to meet and surpass business objectives.
  • Drive the firm's performance by enhancing revenue, reducing costs, and ensuring superior client service.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations while identifying opportunities for tax optimization.
  • Act as a strategic advisor on key operational and business decisions.
  • Foster and cultivate stakeholder relationships on city, state, and national levels.

Qualifications:

  • CPA
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience in a CPA firm.
  • Proven track record of managing a firm's operations, leading to increased productivity and profitability.
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws.
  • Strong financial and accounting background, including an understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with an ability to communicate and manage staff at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Proficient in using business software including Microsoft Office Suite and current accounting software.
  • Proven negotiation skills, with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust.
  • Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Experience in planning, organization, and development.
  • Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities.
  • Adaptable to change and ability to handle pressure under fast-paced and growth-oriented environment.
