Job Details
Pavement Project Engineer to join our growing team of pavement engineers. Types of projects range from high-profile public works infrastructure projects to private developers or residential projects. We also offer state-of-the-art pavement testing and analysis services, including in-house falling weight deflectometer (FWD) and ground penetrating radar (GPR). The Engineer will be assisting with evaluation, design, forensics, and construction projects or tasks such as:
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Construction testing, observation, and inspection
- Pavement management planning
- Manage and perform field investigations, including pavement corings, subsurface explorations, and visual surveys
- DCP, FWD, and GPR operation, testing, and analyses
- Pavement evaluation or design of maintenance, reconstruction projects, new construction, or rehabilitation
- Preparation of engineering reports, proposals, and daily reports, including plates, cost estimates, and appendices
- Lab data interpretation, assignments, and mix design development (AC mix design, soil-cement, etc.)
- Actively expand subject matter expertise and client network
- Participate in pertinent industry groups
- Execute projects on time and budget
- AutoCAD and ESRI ArcGIS
- Execute projects independently with supporting staff
- Practice attention to detail, efficient time management, proactive development of subject matter expertise, collaborate and support other staff members, including mentoring staff
Requirements
- Professional Engineer license and 3 years of relevant, full-time experience in pavement engineering
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with coursework in Pavement Engineering
- Strong communication and written skills
- Pavement or soil-related laboratory testing
- Experience in PCI survey and pavement management planning analysis
- Experience in FWD, GPR, and DCP data gathering, analysis, interpretation
- Experience in AutoCAD, ESRI ArcGIS, and pavement management software (Paver and Streetsaver)
- Self-motivated individual who is comfortable working autonomously or in a team-based environment
- Commitment to excellent client relations and maintaining the project schedule
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Vehicle to travel to/from project sites
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science in Civil Engineering with pavement emphasis
- Experience being the project lead with public agencies and private clients.
- Pavement or soils-related construction field observation and testing experience.
