We are seeking a highly skilled Paving Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic construction team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of paving equipment, ensuring that they are operating at peak efficiency. This vital role requires a deep understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, welding, and preventive maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent diagnostic and electrical skills, and a strong commitment to safety and quality inspections. Responsibilities:
1. Perform regular inspections on paving equipment to identify and repair any mechanical or electrical issues before they lead to major problems.
2. Conduct preventive maintenance on diesel and hydraulic systems to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the equipment.
3. Utilize welding skills to repair any structural issues with the equipment.
4. Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems, utilizing a systematic approach and state-of-the-art diagnostic tools.
5. Perform safety checks on all equipment, ensuring they comply with industry standards and regulations.
6. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work, including any parts or components replaced.
7. Collaborate with the construction team to understand equipment needs and provide expert advice on maintenance and repair issues.
8. Stay updated on the latest advancements in paving equipment technology and maintenance techniques.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in the construction industry, working with paving equipment.
2. Proven experience with diesel and hydraulic systems.
3. Proficient in welding and other fabrication techniques.
4. Demonstrated ability to perform preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment.
5. Strong mechanical aptitude, with excellent diagnostic and electrical skills.
6. Solid understanding of safety standards and regulations in the construction industry.
7. Ability to conduct thorough inspections and identify potential issues.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems.
9. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with other team members.
10. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to various job sites as needed.
11. Certification or degree in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering or industrial technology, is preferred.
