Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the complete payroll process for the organization, ensuring timely and accurate payment to all employees.
2. Manage collections and remittances, maintaining accurate records and ensuring all transactions are processed efficiently.
3. Handle union dues collection, working closely with union representatives to ensure accurate and timely payments.
4. Collaborate with the HR department to verify employee data, including hours worked, deductions, and paid time off.
5. Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any payroll issues that arise.
6. Prepare and submit reports on payroll activities to upper management.
7. Stay updated on current regulations and laws related to payroll procedures to ensure compliance.
8. Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll.
9. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the payroll department to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll or a related field.
3. Proven experience with collections, remittance, and union dues collection.
4. Proficiency in payroll software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
5. Strong knowledge of payroll procedures and best practices.
6. Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
7. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve payroll discrepancies.
9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
10. Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal rules and laws regarding payroll and employment.
