We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Permanent Payroll Manager to join our dynamic team in the Manufacturing industry. This role offers a unique opportunity to oversee and manage all aspects of payroll processing for a large, multi-state organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of weekly and semi-monthly payroll, managing benefits administration, and handling payroll tax filings. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of compliance and confidentiality.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for weekly and semi-monthly payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Coordinate with HR team to manage benefits administration, including 401K, insurance, and other employee benefits.
  • Handle payroll tax filings and ensure all tax obligations are met in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile payroll data and resolve any discrepancies that arise.
  • Process garnishments, deductions, and other special payroll transactions.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce payroll policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and manage payroll system to ensure its accuracy and efficiency.
  • Train and guide staff in the use of payroll-related systems and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in payroll management, preferably in the Manufacturing industry.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in payroll software and systems, with a strong understanding of payroll best practices.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll and a thorough understanding of state and federal wage and tax laws.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits administration, including 401K and insurance benefits.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to reconcile complex payroll data.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
