We are currently seeking a dynamic and passionate Payroll Specialist to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a team that plays a crucial part in the financial operations of our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This role will also be involved in various financial projects and initiatives, providing the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Payroll Specialist, your main responsibilities will include:

1. Processing weekly and bi-weekly payroll for multiple states, ensuring all payments are accurate and timely.
2. Preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
3. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
4. Facilitating audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
5. Identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies.
6. Processing and managing garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specifications.
7. Collaborating with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams to ensure correct employee data.
8. Managing and resolving issues relating to payroll production.
9. Participating in special projects at the request of management.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
2. Proficiency in multi-state payroll tax laws and regulations.
3. Experience with garnishments, benefits, and other payroll deductions.
4. Strong knowledge of payroll best practices.
5. Excellent problem-solving, mathematical, and analytical skills.
6. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
7. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
8. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
10. Experience with payroll software systems.
