We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our dedicated team. This is a permanent, full-time position in the Accounting + Finance industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, garnishments, and ADP systems. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining payroll records, and resolving payroll discrepancies. This position requires 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee and manage the entire payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees.
2. Utilize ADP systems to manage payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
3. Process garnishments, benefits, and taxes accurately and timely.
4. Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files, including wages, deductions, garnishments, benefits, and taxes.
5. Resolve payroll discrepancies and irregularities promptly and accurately.
6. Provide excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll issues or concerns.
7. Prepare and submit accurate reports on payroll activities to management.
8. Stay updated on new legislation and regulatory rulings impacting payroll.
9. Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely data transfer and process alignment.
10. Participate in audits and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in payroll processing, garnishments, and ADP systems.
3. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
4. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills to manage and analyze payroll data.
5. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
7. Excellent communication and customer service skills to handle payroll inquiries and discrepancies.
8. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
9. Strong problem-solving skills to resolve payroll discrepancies and irregularities.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
