We are currently seeking a dynamic and passionate Payroll Specialist to join our team in the construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant and hardworking team, where you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth running of our payroll operations. You will be responsible for managing the full cycle of payroll processes for our union and non-union employees, including certified payroll and timesheets. With your strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, you will be a key player in maintaining our reputation for excellence and integrity in the industry.
Responsibilities:
As a Payroll Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing the full cycle of payroll processes for union and non-union employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Preparing, verifying, and processing timesheets and certified payroll, including accurate calculations of hours worked, deductions, and benefits.
3. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
4. Coordinating with human resources and accounting departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll data.
5. Responding to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management in a timely and professional manner.
6. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date payroll records and preparing reports for review by management.
7. Assisting with payroll-related audits and providing recommendations for process improvements.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you will need to have the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3+ years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in the construction industry.
2. Experience with union payroll, certified payroll, and timesheets is a must.
3. Proficiency in payroll software, as well as strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels within the organization.
6. Strong understanding of payroll and taxation principles, laws, and regulations.
7. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
