We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Permanent Payroll Specialist to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for processing timecards, managing payroll systems, and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. This role plays a critical part in our company's success, ensuring that our employees are compensated accurately and on time. Responsibilities:
1. Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence.
2. Record data for each employee, including address, weekly earnings, absences, amount of sales or production, supervisory reports on performance, and dates of and reasons for terminations.
3. Compile and record employee time and payroll data. May compute employees' time worked, production and commission.
4. Analyze payroll reports, statements, records and making recommendations for improving the payroll process.
5. Prepare and balance period-end reports, and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements.
6. Complete, verify, and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits such as pension plans, and unemployment and medical insurance.
7. Prepare detailed reports on payroll matters including wages, benefits, taxes, and other deductions.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
2. Proficiency in processing timecards.
3. Strong knowledge of payroll systems and procedures.
4. Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
5. Strong numerical skills and data entry experience.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
9. Experience with payroll software systems, and an understanding of current payroll legislation and best practices.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
11. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. A degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
