We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Personal Injury Assistant who is passionate about the legal industry. The ideal candidate will be a key player in our team, providing comprehensive support to our attorneys in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of personal injury law, litigation, and workers' compensation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting attorneys in all aspects of personal injury cases from inception through resolution.
  • Managing a high volume of files, scheduling depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Drafting legal documents, pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing legal memoranda.
  • Communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, judicial administrative staff, and insurance adjusters.
  • Coordinating and maintaining attorney calendars, including court deadlines.
  • Keeping clients informed by maintaining contact and communicating case progress.
  • Ensuring the efficient progression of each case by timely complying with all court deadlines.
  • Maintaining case costs by verifying outstanding balances with attorneys, clients, and providers.
  • Supporting attorneys in the courtroom by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, scheduling witnesses, ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed, and taking courtroom notes.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Personal Injury Assistant or similar role within the legal industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of personal injury law, litigation, and workers' compensation.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Technologically savvy, adaptable to learning new systems and processes.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or Polish is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and legal software applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
