The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a heavy caseload of personal injury cases, including slip and fall, medical malpractice, wrongful death, car accidents, and brain injury. This position requires 5+ years of experience in personal injury litigation.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial case investigation to determine, in the plaintiff’s favor, the potential case value, and the liability issues related to the potential defendant.
  • Gather evidence to formulate a legal strategy or initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.
  • Represent clients in court or before government agencies, arguing on behalf of clients to secure just compensation for their loss.
  • Prepare legal briefs and opinions, and file appeals in state and federal courts of appeal.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in an attempt to avoid court proceedings.
  • Provide legal advice to clients and work diligently to protect their rights.
  • Develop relationships with clients as their trusted advisor for personal injury matters – provide excellent service, and manage client expectations and satisfaction.
  • Research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
  • Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect your clients and the operations of their organization.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar and 5+ years of litigation experience.
  • Proven background in personal injury law, specifically with cases related to slip and fall, medical malpractice, wrongful death, car accidents, and brain injury.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to resolve matters satisfactorily and cost-effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues in an understandable manner.
  • Strong litigation skills, including experience with trial preparation, depositions, and court proceedings.
  • Proficient in legal research and writing.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and cases.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics and client confidentiality.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and committed to meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
