Responsibilities
Qualifications
- Handle a caseload of personal injury litigation matters, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses. Conduct depositions, represent clients in court hearings, and prepare cases for trial.
- Collaborate with the trial team to develop case strategies and prepare for trial, including witness preparation and evidence presentation
- Conduct legal research and draft briefs, motions, and memoranda
- Maintain regular communication with clients to provide case updates, set expectations, and guide them through the litigation process
- Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing counsel, ensuring that outcomes align with clients’ best interests
- Ensure all filings, pleadings, and court submissions comply with the procedural rules of DC courts
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of personal injury litigation experience
- Must be licensed to practice law in D.C
- Strong knowledge of personal injury law, with demonstrated experience in all phases of litigation, including trials
- Proven ability to negotiate favorable settlements
- Proficiency with case management software and litigation support tools
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required
