Job Details
We are hiring a Physical Therapist for a full-time Outpatient Orthopedics role with a nationally recognized medical rehabilitation organization.
This is a strong opportunity for a PT who enjoys outpatient ortho but does not want a high-volume clinic environment. The caseload is manageable, the team is collaborative, and the organization is known for quality patient care, advanced rehabilitation, and strong clinical support.
The Physical Therapist will evaluate and treat patients with orthopedic, post-surgical, musculoskeletal, sports medicine, back pain, and general outpatient rehab needs. The role also includes the opportunity to train in aquatic therapy, with aquatics typically making up about half a day per week.
This is not a neuro-focused outpatient role. Patients may occasionally have complex histories, but the PT will primarily focus on orthopedic and outpatient rehab cases.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday
8-hour day between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM
Friday schedule is typically 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
No regular weekend schedule listed
Patient Volume
Typical caseload is approximately 10–13 patients per day. Treatments are generally 30 minutes, with single booking and some overlapping documentation or dovetail time as needed.
Responsibilities
Evaluate and treat outpatient orthopedic and musculoskeletal patients
Develop individualized treatment plans
Provide post-surgical rehabilitation and orthopedic rehab
Treat patients with back pain, injury recovery, and sports medicine needs
Train in aquatic therapy as needed
Document patient progress and treatment plans
Communicate with patients, families, and clinical team members
Support strong outcomes, patient independence, and safe recovery
Qualifications
Licensed Physical Therapist in Connecticut, or eligible
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
Outpatient orthopedic experience preferred
New grads may be considered
Interest in aquatics preferred
Strong communication and documentation skills
