Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist is responsible for delivering exceptional service and results to all patients. They must effectively interpret, communicate and fulfill the company’s Mission Statement, Vision Statement and Core Values. In addition, they must strive to enhance their clinic and promote the growth of the company. The Physical Therapist must also be compliant and act in accordance with all State and Federal laws, rules, and regulations.

Job Functions:

1. Deliver excellent and compassionate physical therapy to all patients.

2. Always treat safely within your skill level.

3. Maintain extremely high standards of service and results in all patient interactions.

4. Maintain proper case load according to company standards.

5. Always be compliant with documentation according to company standards.

6. Always bill accurately for services rendered.

7. Fully understand the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for this position and ensure that they are accurately measured and registered.

8. Maintain your own personal KPI’s within company standards.

9. Monitor physical therapy technicians during patient care. Professionally and respectfully correct them as needed.

10. Educate and train physical therapy technicians on both technical skills as well as patient interactions.

11. Advance clinical excellence by attending approved Continuing Education Courses yearly. Implement the knowledge and skills acquired immediately and share the most important information with your colleagues.

12. Maintain confidentiality of all patients’ Protected Health Information (PHI) at all times.

13. Maintain the confidentiality of all employees at all times.

14. Maintain the confidentiality of the company and its practices at all times.

15. Participate and contribute to all practice sessions and team development activities.

16. Participate and contribute in clinic events and holiday celebrations.
17. Participate and contribute in team member celebrations.

18. Work at least two community events per year.

19. Effectively communicate facility needs (equipment, supplies, services, management, etc.) to the Operations Manager, Assistant Clinical Director and Clinical Director.

20. Maintain a clean and organized clinic.

21. Follow company policies in regard to time-off and absentee days.

22. Assist with additional marketing as needed.

23. Always act in accordance with all State and Federal laws, rules and regulations.

24. All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

1. Physical Therapy degree, preferably DPT, from an accredited physical therapy school.

2. Current Texas physical therapy licensure by the Texas State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.

3. Fellowship, Orthopedic and/or Manual Therapy training, certification and expertise is strongly preferred.

4. Excellent listening skills.

5. Professional communication skills both oral and written.

6. Excellent interpersonal skills.

7. Ability to foresee future problems, outcomes and/or liabilities. Must proactively communicate any such potential issues and assist with the prevention and/or resolution as needed.

8. Understand the physiology and rationale of all chosen manual therapy techniques, exercises and modalities used in patient care. Be able to communicate this to patients and teach it to both licensed and unlicensed staff.

9. Always act in accordance with a well-developed sense of professional and ethical values.

10. Strong desire to analyze and solve patients’ rehabilitation needs.

11. Demonstrate patience in all interactions with staff and patients alike.

12. Facilitate a positive culture and atmosphere.

13. Ability to work and reason independently, logically, accurately and impartially.

14. Ability to initiate and maintain harmony in both interoffice and intraoffice rapport.

15. Ability to provide leadership and direction within his/her duties for the optimal functioning of the team.

16. Listening, verbal, writing, and typing communication skills to efficiently and effectively interact with medical personnel, staff, clients, families, and the public.
