Job Details
This position plays a key role in supporting plant-level financial operations, with a focus on cost accounting, inventory accuracy, and financial reporting. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure financial integrity while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to manufacturing, including inventory, WIP, and COGS.
Analyze monthly plant expenses and provide variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
Monitor manufacturing variances such as labor, overhead, and material costs.
Partner with supply chain and operations teams to identify cost drivers and provide insights.
Support month-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals.
Participate in physical and cycle counts; ensure inventory records are accurate.
Assist with budget development and forecasting for the plant.
Maintain compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal policies.
Support fixed asset tracking and capital project accounting.
Assist auditors with plant-related financial audits.
Lead or support initiatives to streamline financial processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory valuation.
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Advanced Excel skills and ability to handle large datasets.
Analytical and detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred:
CPA, CMA, or working toward certification.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
Familiarity with manufacturing KPIs and metrics.
