Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Controller to join with food manufacturing experience. The successful candidate will serve as the key financial advisor to the plant management team, providing strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the plant. This role will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the plant.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial reports, including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs budget by division, and weekly cash flow by division.
  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports appropriate for users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including taxation and other regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit and liaise with the external auditors as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
  • Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting as compared to budget.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing cost accounting.
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel, and experience with financial software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities to enable sound judgment.
  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment is required.
