Electronic Controls Specialist II ($1,500 sign on bonus)

Position Summary:

Under supervision of the Maintenance Manager and Electrical Engineering Manager, perform tasks such as, installation of new and used machinery, engineering of controls for automation and upgrade of existing machinery, maintain and/or repair plant production machinery such as candy forming machines, high speed twist, pillow and roll wrapping machines, vertical and horizontal bagging machines, overwrap packaging machines, confectionary cooking and tempering machines, motors, drives, automation controls, conveyors, bucket elevators, pick and place packaging equipment, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED
3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; including experience performing electrical, electronic/mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.
3 years of electrical/electronic controls experience in a 480 volt, three-phase industrial setting.
3 years of PLC hands on programming experience with AB SLC500, AB ControlLogix, and AB Panel View HM
3 years of industrial instrumentation troubleshooting and integration (temperature controllers, steam and electric heat applications, flow applications, pressure applications, etc.).
3 years of experience with Variable Frequency Drive troubleshooting and integration into existing equipment

Essential Duties:

Respond rapidly to all production breakdowns with a strong sense of urgency.
Access, modify, and/or integrate PLC’s to meet production demands.
Diagnose and remedy machine electrical faults, determine necessary repairs.
Perform complex adjustments, repairs or replacements on motors, controls, electric tools or other electrical equipment.
Learn machine operating and maintenance requirements of all production machines and equipment.
Interpret blueprints from locations outside of the U.S. Make corrections and/or modifications to electrical schematics, sketches, etc. needed when upgrades are performed.
Install plant processing equipment including AC variable frequency drives, DC drives, timers, counters, encoders, temperature controllers, RTD’s and thermocouples.
Perform necessary programming changes required to move, add, or repair the phone, voice mail, alarm, plant networking, and plant access equipment systems.
Perform calibration procedures on all required plant equipment in order to comply with FDA and customer requirements. Process all documentation as required.
Design and engineer PLC Programming and HMI Programming needed for new machines, machine upgrades & HMI repairs.
Perform all IQ, OQ, PQ testing for the electrical department as required. This includes assisting with documentation generation.
