We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Permanent Porter. This role requires someone with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a passion for maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep of our manufacturing facility, ensuring that all areas are clean, tidy, and safe for our staff to work in. This role is integral to our operations, and we are looking for someone who can take charge and maintain our high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Responsibilities:
1. Regularly inspecting and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the manufacturing facility.
2. Operating a variety of hand and power tools to carry out maintenance and cleaning tasks.
3. Ensuring all tools and equipment are kept in good working order, performing minor repairs as necessary.
4. Assisting in the setup and teardown of production equipment.
5. Collecting and disposing of waste materials in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
6. Adhering to all health and safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment.
7. Reporting any issues or hazards to the relevant supervisor or manager.
8. Assisting with inventory management, including the receipt and storage of supplies.
9. Performing other duties as assigned, including assisting other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
2. Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
4. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
5. Excellent physical fitness, with the ability to lift heavy objects and spend long periods on your feet.
6. Good communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
7. A proactive approach to work, with the ability to identify and address issues before they become problems.
8. Basic mechanical skills, with the ability to perform minor repairs on tools and equipment.
9. Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
