We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery unit. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to provide critical care and support to mothers and newborns during the childbirth process. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals, including obstetricians, pediatricians, and anesthesiologists, to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. This role will require a high level of technical skill, emotional resilience, and a deep commitment to patient care.
Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse in our Labor & Delivery unit, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Providing direct patient care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.
2. Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans related to labor and delivery.
3. Monitoring and recording vital signs of mothers and newborns, interpreting patient information, and making critical decisions about necessary actions.
4. Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to enhance patient care outcomes.
5. Providing education and support to patient families regarding post-partum care, newborn care, and breastfeeding.
6. Administering medications and performing treatments for assigned patients.
7. Responding to and referring incoming patient treatment-related phone calls.
8. Instructing and educating patients and families on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and childbirth options.
9. Participating in quality improvement activities aimed at improving patient care outcomes.
10. Documenting all patient interactions on patient's medical record following established procedures.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery.
2. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
3. Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
4. Compact license or ability to obtain.
5. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
6. Proficiency in obstetrics, including knowledge of best practices and latest developments in the field.
7. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-focused approach to care.
8. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
9. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
10. A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
