The Power Electronics Engineer, Strategic Initiative is responsible for the engineering, design and validation of new cutting-edge motor-drive topologies. This position will be the lead engineer and primary subject matter expert in power electronics design and motor-drives. S/he will coordinate with internal teams, external manufacturing partners, universities, and 3rd party certification agencies to achieve program goals.

Job Details

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Permanent Power Electronics Engineer to join our dynamic team in the Engineering industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing power electronics systems for a variety of applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop power electronics systems for a variety of applications, including motor drives, renewable energy systems, and industrial automation equipment.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate design concepts to determine the best approach for each project.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain electronic PCB designs, including schematic capture, layout, and fabrication.
  • Conduct testing and validation of power electronics systems to ensure that they meet performance and safety requirements.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing and field service teams as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in power electronics and related technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in power electronics design and development.
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, motor drives, and electronic PCB design.
  • Experience with simulation tools such as SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as UL, CE, and IEC.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
