Job Details:
The Precon Estimator is crucial to our operations, as you will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates that will directly impact the success of our projects. You will be a key player in our preconstruction process, using your expertise to ensure that our projects are financially feasible and profitable.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand the scope and requirements of a project.
2. Utilizing estimating software to calculate the cost of materials, labor, and equipment needed for a project.
3. Analyzing blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
4. Presenting prepared estimates to clients, project managers, and other decision-makers.
5. Conducting risk assessments to identify potential financial or operational risks.
6. Participating in bid processes, including preparing and submitting accurate bids.
7. Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, new products, and the overall market situation to ensure competitive estimates.
8. Maintaining a comprehensive database of cost estimates for future reference.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating or precon within the construction industry.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
3. Proficient with estimating software and tools.
4. Thorough understanding of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.
5. Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.
8. Strong attention to detail and the ability to make sound financial decisions.
9. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
