Job Details
Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Propulsion Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
1. Leading the technical development for mechanical subsystems, including propulsion.
2. Providing propulsion subsystem technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team.
3. Performing technical risk assessment and mitigation for space-based mechanical and propulsion subsystems.
4. Working closely with other engineers and scientists to design, analyze, and test propulsion systems.
5. Using mechanical design and analysis tools to create effective and efficient propulsion systems.
6. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of propulsion subsystems into the spacecraft.
8. Staying updated on the latest advancements and trends in propulsion technology and incorporating them into our systems where applicable.
9. Documenting all stages of the design and development process for future reference and improvement.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Propulsion Engineer, you must possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or higher is preferred.
2. A minimum of 7 years of experience in propulsion engineering or a related field.
3. Demonstrated experience providing propulsion subsystem technical expertise.
4. Proficiency with mechanical design and analysis tools.
5. A solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
7. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
8. A passion for space exploration and a commitment to contributing to the future of the space industry.
