Job Details
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Principal (Owner’s Representative - Construction) to oversee a diverse portfolio of construction projects. This hybrid role offers flexibility, blending on-site project oversight, remote work, and occasional in-person meetings at our Lansing office. Over time, this position will help spearhead our expansion efforts into the Grand Rapids market.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the owner’s representative, advocating for client interests throughout the project lifecycle, from planning to completion.
Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and quality, ensuring alignment with client goals.
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to drive project success and mitigate risks.
Provide leadership and strategic guidance to project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
Conduct site visits as needed to monitor progress and ensure compliance with specifications.
Contribute to business development efforts as we grow our presence in Western Michigan.
Prepare and present detailed reports to clients and internal leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in an owner’s representative or leadership role.
Proven track record of managing multimillion-dollar projects from inception to completion.
Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts, and risk management.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and adapt to a hybrid work environment.
Familiarity with the Michigan construction market, particularly Lansing and Grand Rapids, is a plus.
Work Arrangement:
This is a hybrid position requiring on-site project oversight, remote work, and occasional travel to our Lansing office for meetings. Long-term, this role will support our goal of establishing a robust presence in Grand Rapids, MI.
