Job Details

SUMMARY:
As our RF Systems Engineer, you will lead the architecture, design, calibration, and validation of Epirus high-power microwave phased array systems. They will define CONOPS, requirements, interfaces, and verification plans while collaborating with the RF design team. Ideal candidates have end-to-end phased array system design experience, from architecture trade studies to final integration and validation.

MUST-HAVES:
  • Phased Array or Antenna Design.
  • Systems Level experience making requirements.
  • Taking a product from concept to production.
  • ITAR Compliant.

NICE TO HAVES:
  • Feeco or Grass (Optics tools for reflectors)

TEAM SIZE / ENVIRONMENT:
  • Company size is about 180 people, and the RF team is 3 people as of now and growing.
  • Environment is 70% Product and 30% R&D.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with the RF Design team to define and capture RF System architecture for Epirus phased array products
  • Define and iterate on product concept of operations (CONOPS) for a variety of phased array applications
  • Develop and own RF systems modeling artifacts such as system architectures, gain/loss budget, and end-to-end system power calculations
  • Model and simulate phased array elements and systems in HFSS/CST or similar
  • Develop and refine phased array calibration and verification methodology, including near-field probe testing
  • Develop system-level test plans to exercise and measure the functionality and performance of RF systems in both indoor chambers and remote field test sites.
  • Develop architecture and CONOPS of phased array-fed reflector systems, including simulations in TICRA/GRASP or similar
  • Troubleshoot system-level RF issues/failures and provide recommended paths forward
  • Hold design reviews and presentations with peers and act as an expert reviewer

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus in RF Engineering and phased array systems
  • 10 - 15 years of industry experience, preferably with experience spanning the entire product lifecycle (Concept to Delivery)
