Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Handle a diverse range of product liability cases, including trial preparation, pleadings, motions, and interrogatories.
2. Represent insurers in complex litigation matters, ensuring the best possible defense against insurance claims.
3. Conduct meticulous legal research and writing to support case strategies, arguments, and negotiations.
4. Make regular court appearances and effectively argue cases in front of a judge or jury.
5. Prepare and review legal documents, including complaints, answers, discovery requests, and responses.
6. Conduct and defend depositions to gather and present crucial case information.
7. Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to case handling.
8. Stay updated with current laws and regulations related to product liability and insurance defense.
9. Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in all client and court interactions.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted to the Illinois State Bar and in good standing.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Liability Attorney, preferably in a law firm setting.
4. Proven track record in trial, litigation, and commercial litigation.
5. Extensive experience in insurance defense and representing insurers in complex litigation matters.
6. Familiarity with the process of insurance claims and the ability to effectively handle such cases.
7. Proficient in drafting pleadings, motions, and interrogatories.
8. Strong experience in making court appearances and conducting depositions.
9. Excellent legal research and writing skills.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
12. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
13. High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
14. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
