Production Engineers are accountable for the design, execution, and evaluation of the production of vertical and horizontal oil and gas wells. They are expected to work closely with field staff, other engineers, and management to ensure well costs and performance meet company objectives to maximize the value of oil and gas properties, prospects, and lands

Production Engineers are accountable for the design, execution, and evaluation of the production of vertical and horizontal oil and gas wells. They are expected to work closely with field staff, other engineers, and management to ensure well costs and performance meet company objectives to maximize the value of oil and gas properties, prospects, and lands
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support and surveillance to an assigned area and set of wells
- Support operations Field Operating Manager, Superintendent and Foremen (production) at the field level during design, execution, and evaluation of all assigned regional operations.
- Communicate with Lease Operators, Field Techs, Production Admins, and all others at the field office.
- Continuously monitor and assess facility performance to identify opportunities for improvement. Implement engineering solutions to optimize production, reduce downtime, and improve operational efficiency.
- Select, install, and optimize artificial lift systems for operated wells and facilities.
- Write detailed operational procedures, capital and expense cost estimates, forecast revenue, compile and summarize well data, and supply same to field employees in a timely manner.
- Understand oil & gas regulatory rules (federal, state, local levels) related to the production operations of wells assigned to the field office.
- Work as needed to assist other departments (Land, Accounting, Geology, Reservoir Engineering, etc.) to efficiently operate and maintain sound business practices.
- Collect and implement local best practices from company staff and other oil & gas operators.
- Support input of field data into operations database and run queries for analysis from same.
- Other duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in Oil & Gas Operations.
- Strong technical knowledge of oil and gas production systems.
- Fully proficient with all Microsoft office suite products.
