Job Summary:
The Production Planner is responsible for scheduling and coordinating all aspects of the manufacturing process to ensure on-time delivery of products. This role requires close collaboration with production managers, supply chain teams, and the Master Planner to ensure efficient and effective operations. The ideal candidate will bring experience in planning within a manufacturing environment and possess strong organizational and communication skills.

The Production Planner is responsible for scheduling and coordinating all aspects of the manufacturing process to ensure on-time delivery of products. This role requires close collaboration with production managers, supply chain teams, and the Master Planner to ensure efficient and effective operations. The ideal candidate will bring experience in planning within a manufacturing environment and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and allocate time for each manufacturing location, including production runs, scheduled maintenance, and machine cleaning.
- Communicate stage gate timelines and product completion schedules to the Master Planner for shipping coordination.
- Drive daily and long-term outputs across all production areas to meet scheduling requirements.
- Ensure on-time delivery of materials by working closely with the supply chain team to meet scheduled production dates.
- Immediately report any production blockers to the Master Planner to minimize downtime or delays.
- Manage all new product and project timelines from initiation through full production, ensuring seamless integration into the manufacturing process.
- Provide comprehensive timelines for all stages of new product launches.
- Lead planning meetings and create detailed production timelines for all operational areas.
- Utilize the master production schedule to create and execute a daily operations plan.
- Develop and maintain a forward-looking list of supply chain shortages, 2–3 months ahead of due dates, to prevent order delays.
- Support production managers in achieving greater than 95% on-time delivery by ensuring understanding of run rates and production goals.
- Conduct hourly meetings with production managers to report on run rates, output levels, and progress toward daily goals.
- Print and distribute Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) to production teams based on set timelines.
- Continuously evaluate and revise the production schedule based on stage gate progress, and communicate updates to all stakeholders.
- Organize and lead daily or weekly meetings (as required) with the Director of Plant Operations to align on daily production goals and run rates.
- Collaborate with document control to identify which products are not currently integrated in Redzone and facilitate the addition of new items.
- Establish launch dates for new products and hold team members accountable for meeting critical tasks and milestones.
- Provide continuous updates to all relevant stakeholders regarding the status of projects and production timelines.
- Identify and manage production blockers across all project and product areas.
Job Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience in production or operations planning.
- Experience working in a facility that manufactures nutraceuticals and uses solid dose equipment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, with Oracle strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating effectively with production managers.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly to upper-level management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management certifications (e.g., PMP, CAPM) – preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree (4-year) in a related field – preferred.
