We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Permanent Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth running of our production operations, driving efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. The successful candidate will be a proven leader with a solid background in production planning, scheduling, and inventory control in the manufacturing industry. This role requires an individual who can multitask, has excellent communication skills, and is passionate about continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee daily production operations, ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
2. Develop and implement production schedules, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines and optimize resource utilization.
3. Manage inventory effectively, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained to meet production requirements and minimize downtime.
4. Lead and train employees, providing guidance, motivation, and performance feedback to foster a high-performing team.
5. Oversee the maintenance and repair of production equipment, ensuring proper functioning and minimizing downtime.
6. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and productivity.
7. Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by enforcing safety regulations, conducting safety training, and investigating accidents.
8. Liaise with other departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth and coordinated operations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the manufacturing industry.
3. Proven knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and inventory control principles.
4. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and make effective decisions under pressure.
5. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate and develop a team.
7. Solid understanding and experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles and process improvement initiatives.
8. Ability to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
9. Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and production management software.
