POSITION OVERVIEW
The organization is seeking an experienced and people-centered leader to serve as the Program Director. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership and oversee program directors across multiple service areas.
This role is responsible for ensuring effective program delivery, strengthening internal systems, and supporting organizational strategy. The Director of Programs will also contribute to cross-functional leadership efforts, staff development, and external partnerships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Team Development
Directly manage and support program and department leaders
Provide coaching and professional development to strengthen leadership capacity
Facilitate regular management meetings and alignment sessions
Guide program planning, goal setting, and outcome measurement
Performance & Systems Management
Help enhance and oversee organizational reporting and data systems
Support continuous improvement of program performance tracking
Drive adoption and optimization of internal database tools
Ensure effective use of data to inform decision-making
Organizational Culture & Operations
Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace
Lead or support organization-wide initiatives such as retreats, staff engagement efforts, and internal events
Partner with executive leadership on developing policies and operational practices
Ensure consistent implementation of internal procedures across teams
Oversee compliance-related training and requirements
External Engagement
Support grant writing, reporting, and funding efforts
Represent the organization with community partners, funders, and stakeholders
Build and maintain key external relationships
Engage with local education and community partners as needed
Board Engagement
Serve as a supporting liaison to the Board of Directors
Assist with committee coordination, meeting preparation, and follow-up actions
Support communication between board members and program staff
Ensure program updates and organizational initiatives are clearly communicated
Additional Responsibilities
Participate in advocacy and community engagement initiatives
Contribute to strategic organizational priorities
Take on additional duties as needed to support the mission
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit leadership or a related field
Significant experience overseeing programs and teams in a dynamic environment
Strong leadership skills with a focus on coaching and development
Proven ability to manage complex initiatives and multiple priorities
Sound judgment and ability to navigate challenging decisions
Collaborative and adaptable working style
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across stakeholders
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and mission-driven work
