We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Project Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Tech Services industry. This role is specifically focused on Commercial Construction projects, with a particular emphasis on solar technology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on innovative, groundbreaking projects, contributing to the growth and success of our company. Responsibilities:
1. Provide full cycle accounting for commercial construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
2. Monitor and analyze project costs, identifying any discrepancies and taking appropriate action to ensure financial objectives are met.
3. Liaise closely with project managers and other key stakeholders, providing them with accurate and timely financial information to aid decision-making.
4. Review and approve contractor and supplier invoices, ensuring they comply with contractual agreements.
5. Oversee the accurate and timely processing of all project-related financial transactions, including billings, payments, and journal entries.
6. Prepare and present financial reports and other project-related information to senior management and external stakeholders.
7. Contribute to the improvement of financial processes and systems, ensuring they remain efficient and effective.
8. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years' experience in project accounting, specifically within the commercial construction industry.
3. SAGE 100 software highly preferred
4. Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.
5. Excellent financial analysis skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
6. Proficiency in using accounting software and other relevant IT systems.
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
8. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
9. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
10. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
11. Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is highly desirable.
