Job Details
Responsibilities:
As a Project Accountant - Construction, you will be responsible for the financial health of our construction projects. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing project financials, including managing project budgets and expenditures.
2. Conducting regular project forecasting to ensure financial targets are met.
3. Processing and tracking project requisitions and invoices.
4. Preparing and presenting financial reports to project stakeholders.
5. Working closely with project managers to understand project scope and objectives.
6. Ensuring all financial transactions and records comply with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
7. Identifying and mitigating financial risks associated with construction projects.
8. Assisting in project audits and resolving any discrepancies.
9. Collaborating with other finance team members to streamline and improve financial processes.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Project Accountant - Construction role should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a project accounting role, preferably in the construction industry.
2. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA designation is considered an asset.
3. Demonstrated experience with project forecasting and managing requisitions.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
5. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
6. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. A keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
10. The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
