We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Project Accountant to join our rapidly growing construction team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the financial management of our construction projects, from inception to completion. This position offers a unique opportunity to utilize your accounting skills in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. You will work closely with project managers, finance teams, and the senior management to ensure financial transparency and accuracy across all our construction projects. If you have a keen eye for detail, enjoy working on complex financial problems, and have a proven track record in project accounting, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Project Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing all financial aspects of our construction projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
2. Managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner.
3. Conducting regular financial analysis to identify potential cost overruns, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
4. Collaborating with project managers to develop project budgets, track actual costs against budget, and forecast future costs.
5. Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
6. Preparing regular financial reports for senior management, highlighting key trends, risks, and opportunities.
7. Working closely with the finance team to integrate project accounting with overall company financial management.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Project Accountant role should have:
1. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proficiency in accounts payable and receivable, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
5. Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
7. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
8. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
9. High level of integrity, with a commitment to upholding company values and ethical standards.
