We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Accountant to join our team in the Construction industry. This role is a unique opportunity to work on various projects, providing financial oversight and making a significant impact on the success of our business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our construction projects, from budgeting and cost accounting to financial reporting and forecasting.

Responsibilities:

As a Project Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Managing all financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, cost accounting, and financial reporting.
2. Utilizing AIA Billing and Project Accounting to manage and track project costs and revenues.
3. Performing account reconciliations and ensuring accurate financial records.
4. Implementing cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budget.
5. Using forecasting techniques to anticipate future project costs and revenues.
6. Utilizing software tools such as Timberline and Sage 300 for efficient project accounting and financial management.
7. Preparing and presenting financial statements and other financial reports to management.
8. Collaborating with project managers and other team members to ensure financial objectives are met.
9. Identifying and mitigating financial risks associated with construction projects.
10. Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards in the construction industry.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Project Accountant position should possess the following:

1. A minimum of 3 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
2. Proficiency in AIA Billing and Project Accounting.
3. Solid understanding of cost accounting and budgeting principles.
4. Proven experience with account reconciliation and financial reporting.
5. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
6. Experience with cost control and forecasting techniques.
7. Familiarity with Timberline, Sage 300, or similar accounting software.
8. Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements.
9. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Strong communication and presentation skills.
11. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
