Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary design engineer for municipal water and wastewater facilities, including conducting studies, developing preliminary and final designs, and managing permitting processes.
  • Manage small to mid-size design and construction projects, acting as the project manager.
  • Collaborate with team members and delegate tasks effectively to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Mentor and coach staff, which may include supervising project team members.
  • Develop and review design calculations, create drawings, and perform utility research and coordination.
  • Oversee construction contracts, including reviewing submittals, pay applications, and project changes.
  • Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with design and contract specifications.
  • Provide engineering designs and cost estimates for process projects and support other departments as needed.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including project reports, memorandums, letters, and record documents.
  • Lead construction and client meetings.
  • Represent the firm and its clients at public meetings.
  • Advise clients on project funding opportunities and processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in the study, planning, and design of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, including familiarity with municipal funding agencies, construction oversight, and permitting.
  • Strong foundation in water system hydraulics and water treatment processes.
  • Proven ability to develop and adhere to budgets and schedules.
  • Experience in creating engineering scopes and work plans.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, including technical and proposal writing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of codes, engineering practices, and surveying principles.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Skilled in technical writing for deliverables, such as work plans, quality program documents, summary reports, and project correspondence.
  • Experience in developing and presenting technical content to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with the practices and regulations of Municipal, Township, and County governments.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
