Job Details

We're looking for a Project Manager with experience in HVAC automation and controls to lead the planning, design, and execution of turnkey building automation projects in the Fort Myers market. This role works closely with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery from kickoff to closeout.

Responsibilities:
  • Support Estimating & Project Planning: Assist with project bids, scope definition, and basic design. Help develop subcontractor scopes of work.
  • Manage Design & Documentation: Oversee the creation of submittals, wiring diagrams, sequences of operation, and commissioning plans.
  • Pre-Construction Coordination: Attend pre-construction meetings and manage jobsite scheduling.
  • Oversee Subcontracts & Contracts: Make sure contractual obligations are met by all parties.
  • Lead Software & Commissioning Efforts: Coordinate controls software development and field commissioning activities with engineers and techs.
  • Supervise Field Teams: Monitor subcontractor and engineering work to ensure quality and timeliness.
  • Manage Materials & Budget: Track equipment orders and deliveries. Monitor costs and control project budget.
  • Track Documentation: Maintain all relevant project documents including RFIs, schedules, safety forms, commissioning records, and as-builts.
  • Coordinate Turnover: Ensure smooth handoff to the client, including training, documentation, and warranty info.
  • Handle Invoicing & Forecasting: Oversee monthly billing and financial tracking.
  • Use Project Management Tools: Update project status and progress using internal software systems.
  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction: Maintain high standards and positive client relationships throughout the project.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of project management experience in mechanical, electrical, BAS, or general contracting
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and hands-on commissioning experience
  • Ability to interpret design documents and controls drawings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Project
  • Familiarity with BMS/SCADA software is a plus
  • Experience with project tracking software (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, timecard systems) is a plus
