Job Details

We're seeking a Building Automation Project Manager in the Phoenix area to take the reins on multiple controls projects from start to finish—overseeing everything from installation and commissioning to customer handoff. This role is essential to ensuring projects meet technical specs, stay on budget, and are delivered on time while maintaining clear, proactive communication with customers and internal teams

Responsibilities:
  • Organize and manage all project-related contract documents and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to finalize submittals and drawing sets for Controls Technicians.
  • Review and interpret owner-provided construction documents and project specifications.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the customer throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Attend project meetings and build strong client relationships, escalating issues as needed.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and assign commissioning tasks to internal controls staff.
  • Break down and maintain detailed project schedules.
  • Handle project administration including milestone tracking, timecard approvals, and documentation in project management software.
  • Track change orders, POs, budgets, and material approvals.
  • Report project billing and financials to Senior Project Management.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience managing construction or controls projects.
  • Strong grasp of building automation systems (BAS), HVAC controls, and electrical systems.
  • Solid skills in scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Tech-savvy with a working knowledge of project documentation tools and software.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage customer expectations.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented, and team-focused mindset.
