Job Details
We are seeking a Building Automation Project Manager to oversee the delivery of control system projects from concept to completion in the San Jose area. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring that building automation (BAS/BMS) solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and with exceptional quality. The ideal candidate is both technically savvy and highly organized, with strong communication skills and a passion for smart building technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple building automation/control system projects across commercial and industrial job sites
- Act as a liaison between clients, subcontractors, and internal engineering teams
- Estimate and sell BAS projects for both new and existing clients
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, manpower, and material coordination
- Participate in design review, submittal preparation, and equipment procurement
- Ensure accurate and timely billing, documentation, and project closeout
- Monitor labor and material costs to ensure budget compliance
- Support field coordination and technician deployment
- Provide input on process improvements and operations optimization
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and service needs
- Promote collaboration between construction and engineering teams
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline preferred
- 4–6+ years of experience in HVAC, BAS, or building controls project management
- Experience managing DDC and BMS projects in commercial or mission-critical environments
- Familiarity with systems such as Automated Logic, Tridium, Siemens, or Johnson Controls
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building controls design
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; technical writing skills preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and field coordination experience is a plus
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Able to manage multiple projects with varying timelines
- Willing to visit job sites and work in both office and field environments
- Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record
