Job Details

BECx Project Manager holds overall responsibility for assigned building enclosure projects of low to medium scope complexity. Duties include planning and executing a specific project plan, delivering quality products and services to the client in a timely manner, managing project financials, and serving as the primary contact between our client's project team and the end-client.

The BECx Project Manager manages multiple projects including new construction commissioning as well as existing building investigations and consulting, and is responsible for the results of assigned projects (Total Project Success).

Key Responsibilities:

Completes the project scope and requirements with the client and other stakeholders and communicates project scope and requirements to the project team
Prepares and implements a proactive Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plan for projects
Performs condition surveys and failure investigations of existing buildings related to building enclosure air and moisture leakage
Designs repairs to correct the root cause of investigated enclosure issues
Coordinates and directs or performs enclosure testing
Performs project job site visits to investigate field conditions, monitor progress, and ensure conformance to design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes during construction
Coordinates with other disciplines to determine equipment needs, implement operating procedures, and provide technical information
Oversees the profitability of the project by negotiating fees and contracts as may be appropriate, participating in the budgeting process, and ensuring that invoices are accurate and delivered in a timely manner
Identifies, negotiates, and administers fees for additional services
Schedules work, communicates schedule information to the project team, and monitors manpower requirements
Facilitates communication between the client and the project team; documents important issues
Coordinates activities of the project team and contractors during the design and construction phases
Monitors accounts receivables on projects and initiates corrective action as needed
Prepares the final report that documents all BECx activities
Supervises the job close out process to ensure documentation, lessons learned, and filings are complete
May participate in planning and budgeting processes, which includes preparing monthly billing projections and budget metrics as required by management
May assist management in the training and mentoring of less experienced colleagues within the BECx group


An ideal candidate will possess the following requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
Five years related project experience
Professional Engineer or Registered Architect preferred
Certified Building Enclosure Commissioning Agent preferred or able to get this certification within 3 - 6 months of employment.
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook) software
Knowledge of the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
Knowledge of NIBs Guideline 3
Knowledge of CxAlloy is preferred
Knowledge of project approach and systems design
Knowledge of building enclosure systems (roofing, waterproofing, glazing, and facade systems)
Knowledge of US building codes and regulations
General knowledge of accounting and how to create and maintain budgets

Judgement and Decision-Making Skills – ability to make reasoned judgments that are logical and well thought out; constructively questioning and analyzing information in order to make the best conclusion

Written Communication Skills – ability to clearly deliver a message through written words using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Speech Clarity – ability to speak clearly and in a common language so that others can understand you
