The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our construction projects, from planning and procurement to implementation and completion. This role is perfect for a professional with a strong background in construction management and public works, who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of construction projects from initial planning to completion.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors to ensure standards of building performance, quality, cost schedules and safety are maintained.
- Review and interpret project plans and specifications to ensure project is built according to the prescribed plans.
- Meet contractual conditions of performance and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
- Oversee all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
- Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory.
- Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of proven working experience in construction management.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
- Familiarity with construction management software packages.
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”.
- Competent in conflict and crisis management.
- Excellent time and project management skills.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong leadership and team building abilities.
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
- Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and construction/project management software.
- PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an advantage.
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment.
