We are seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and experienced Permanent Project Manager for our Marine Survey department in the Scientific industry. This role is integral to our mission of exploring and understanding the world's oceans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geology and offshore operations, with the ability to manage complex projects while maintaining high standards of safety and quality. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to significant scientific discoveries while working in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Project Manager - Marine Survey, you will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing and managing all aspects of marine survey projects from planning to execution, ensuring that objectives are met within budget and on schedule.
2. Coordinating with a multi-disciplinary team of geologists, oceanographers, and other scientists to achieve project goals.
3. Implementing and maintaining safety and quality control procedures for offshore operations, in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
4. Developing and maintaining project documentation, including project plans, schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
5. Coordinating with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and internal departments, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
6. Identifying, analyzing, and managing project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.
7. Leading and motivating the project team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the marine survey or offshore industry.
2. A Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Oceanography, or a related field.
3. Proven experience in managing complex projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
4. Strong knowledge of geology and offshore operations, including safety and quality control procedures.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and implement effective solutions.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
8. Proficiency in project management software and other relevant technology.
9. A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
