A well-established mechanical contractor based in the DFW area is seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee and execute commercial HVAC and plumbing construction projects. Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of HVAC and plumbing projects across various industries
- Manage multiple projects of varying scope and size simultaneously
- Monitor contracts, project scope, and subcontractor agreements to ensure alignment with goals
- Work closely with field supervision to plan labor and project schedules
- Review project documents, drawings, and specifications to maintain compliance
- Prepare project budgets, schedules of values, and cost tracking systems
- Oversee procurement of materials, subcontractors, and equipment
- Ensure on-site safety standards are followed in coordination with company Safety personnel
- Manage project billing and payment applications, including subcontractor invoices
- Collaborate with design teams on design-build and design-assist projects
- Develop strong client relationships and support business development efforts
- Conduct monthly financial analysis and overbilling strategies to ensure healthy cash flow
- Finalize project closeouts and warranty items efficiently
Requirements:
- 3–5+ years of experience managing commercial mechanical projects
- Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and building automation systems
- Experience with both new construction and renovations
- Strong knowledge of contract negotiation and construction change orders
- Proven leadership of project engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to navigate high-pressure deadlines and shifting priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Timberline, MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and CAD
- Experience in design-build and design-assist environments
- Familiarity with submittal/shop drawing coordination and O&M documentation
