Job Details
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Project Manager in Underground Construction, you will be expected to:
1. Manage and oversee all aspects of underground construction projects from conception to completion.
2. Develop and implement project schedules and work plans to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
3. Coordinate and supervise the work of construction teams, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety regulations.
4. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with project specifications.
5. Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to maintain strong working relationships and resolve any issues or conflicts.
6. Prepare and manage project budgets, controlling expenses and costs to avoid overruns.
7. Review and approve contracts and agreements with suppliers, subcontractors, and other partners.
8. Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure high standards of workmanship.
9. Identify and manage project risks, developing contingency plans to mitigate potential issues.
10. Prepare and present project updates and progress reports to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Project Manager in Underground Construction position will have the following qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of five years of experience in project management, with a focus on underground construction.
3. Strong knowledge of construction processes, equipment, materials, and safety regulations.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
5. Proven experience in scheduling, budgeting, and contract management.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
7. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
8. A professional certification in Project Management (PMP) or Construction Management (CCM) would be an advantage.
9. The ability to work in challenging conditions, including confined spaces and underground environments.
10. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to different project sites as needed.
