Property Accountant

We are seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated Permanent Property Accountant to join our vibrant finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of property accounting, including account reconciliation, financial reporting, and general ledger management.

1. Manage and oversee all aspects of accounting for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
2. Perform monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
3. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and provide detailed reports and financial summaries for management to aid in decision-making.
4. Oversee accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.
5. Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and controls, as well as all applicable laws and regulations.
6. Utilize property management software such as Yardi and MRI to manage financial data and create financial reports.
7. Collaborate with other members of the finance team to review and improve accounting processes and procedures.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
2. Minimum of 3+ years of property accounting experience.
3. Proficiency in property accounting software, specifically Yardi and MRI.
4. Strong understanding of general ledger functions and financial statements.
5. Solid understanding of account reconciliation and accounts payable processes.
6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Proven ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
11. Demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting and financial compliance regulations.
