Job Details

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to join our growing real estate team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting and be proficient in Yardi software, with a proven ability to manage financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger activity for a diverse portfolio of properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting functions for a portfolio of residential and/or commercial properties
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accruals and prepayments
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely
  • Track capital expenditures and assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Work closely with property managers and asset managers to ensure accurate reporting
  • Prepare year-end workpapers and assist with external audits and tax preparation
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards (GAAP)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in property accounting, preferably in a real estate or property management setting
  • Strong working knowledge of Yardi Voyager (required)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting principles
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with multi-entity or multi-property environments
  • Knowledge of CAM reconciliations and lease abstracting
  • CPA or pursuit of CPA a plus
