We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Buyer (Meat & Poultry) to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in our supply chain operations, focusing on the procurement of meat and poultry products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food procurement, particularly in meat and poultry, as well as a deep understanding of supply chain processes. This role requires a minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

1. Managing the complete procurement process for meat and poultry products, ensuring high quality and cost-effectiveness.
2. Developing and implementing procurement strategies to optimize supply chain operations.
3. Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts to secure advantageous terms.
4. Forecasting market trends and potential challenges, taking proactive action to ensure a stable supply of meat and poultry products.
5. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to determine operational needs and to develop strategies to meet these needs.
6. Conducting regular supplier audits to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
7. Implementing and managing a robust supplier management process, including performance monitoring and risk management.
8. Resolving supply chain issues and disputes in a timely and effective manner.
9. Staying updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in meat and poultry procurement.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role, specifically in food procurement with a focus on meat and poultry.
2. A strong understanding of supply chain processes and principles.
3. Proven experience in supplier negotiation and contract management.
4. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to forecast market trends and make data-driven decisions.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
6. A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to resolve supply chain issues effectively.
7. A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
8. Certifications in procurement or supply chain management, such as CPSM or CSCP, will be an advantage.
