The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of purchasing, from reviewing bid packages to finalizing purchase orders. This role requires a highly organized individual with a keen eye for detail, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the construction industry.

Job Details


1. Manage all purchasing activities including the preparation and execution of purchase orders, contracts, and agreements.
2. Review and analyze bid packages from vendors and subcontractors to ensure they meet project specifications and budget.
3. Work closely with project management teams to understand material and service requirements for each project.
4. Utilize software systems such as Buildertrend, Buildpro, and SupplyPro to track and manage purchasing activities.
5. Continually evaluate vendor and subcontractor performance to ensure quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met.
6. Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain the best possible prices and terms.
7. Monitor market trends and conditions to identify potential new suppliers and products.
8. Collaborate with other departments to resolve any issues related to the procurement process.
9. Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.


1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Purchasing Agent, Purchasing Coordinator, or similar role in the construction industry.
2. Proven experience with purchasing, reviewing bid packages, and project management.
3. Experience with Buildertrend, Buildpro, and SupplyPro software systems is preferred.
4. Familiarity with the residential construction and homebuilding industry.
5. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers.
6. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
8. Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to procurement in the construction industry.
9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
10. A degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
