Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all purchasing activities including the preparation of purchase orders, evaluation of supplier bids, and negotiation of contracts.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other team members to understand project requirements and timelines.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Analyze and forecast future product needs, market trends, and potential supply challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve procurement processes, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of products and services.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate supply and minimize excess.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate purchasing with business systems and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Purchasing Agent in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience with purchasing, preparing purchase orders, evaluating bids, and managing bid packages.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction and homebuilding.
  • Experience with Buildpro system is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using Buildertrend, Marks Systems, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure advantageous terms.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze market trends and make cost-effective purchasing decisions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and team members.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations and procedures in the construction industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred.
