We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Purchasing and Inventory Supervisor to join our Manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all purchasing and inventory control functions to ensure cost-effective management of resources, timely delivery of goods to clients, and effective inventory management. This role is pivotal in supporting the company's manufacturing operations and requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of supply chain management. The role reports directly to the Operations Manager and will have a significant impact on the efficiency and productivity of our operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all purchasing and inventory control functions to ensure cost-effective management of resources, timely delivery of goods to clients, and effective inventory management. This role is pivotal in supporting the company's manufacturing operations and requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of supply chain management. The role reports directly to the Operations Manager and will have a significant impact on the efficiency and productivity of our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks.
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
- Oversee the management of inventory levels to ensure that they are at optimal levels.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and distribution of inventory.
- Implement inventory audit procedures and manage the physical inventory process.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in warehousing and inventory management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management required.
- Excellent negotiation skills required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate inventory processes are in place.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed timeframes.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in reading the market.
- Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
- Strong leadership capabilities.
