Purchasing Manager – Specialty Contractor (Electrical Focus)
We’re partnering with a fast-growing specialty contractor that’s transformed its purchasing function from decentralized chaos to a more scalable, centralized structure. After years of growth and evolving needs, they’re looking to bring in a Local Operations Purchasing Manager to lead their team and be the internal ambassador for their purchasing model.

The Big Picture:
This role sits at the company’s HQ and will lead a team of six—buyers, assistant buyers, and a senior buyer. You’ll be the go-to for aligning purchasing processes with operations, mentoring your team, and strengthening vendor relationships. It’s not just about buying smarter—it’s about getting the rest of the business to want to buy smarter.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead and support a growing team within the centralized purchasing model
  • Be a trusted liaison between the field, PMs, and the purchasing function
  • Help shift old-school mindsets—drive adoption of smarter, standardized processes
  • Bring empathy, finesse, and a collaborative approach to cross-functional conversations
  • Represent purchasing with other departments (e.g., accounting, ops leadership)
  • Continue maturing vendor strategy and operational alignment

Who You Are:
  • A purchasing or supply chain pro with electrical contracting or distribution experience
  • Equally strong in people leadership and strategic thinking
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment
  • Capable of handling the push-pull of change management with patience
  • Bonus points if you’ve worked in an MEP/subcontractor environment or with prefabrication

Location:
Based at HQ (relocation support available if needed)

Comp:
Base salary $110–$140K + discretionary bonus (~$15K–$25K historically) + strong benefits
