Responsibilities:
As a Purchasing Manager, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:
1. Developing and implementing purchasing strategies to meet the company's business goals.
2. Managing daily purchasing activities, supervising staff, and allocating tasks.
3. Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
4. Conducting market research to identify new potential suppliers and vendors.
5. Implementing new or improved supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
6. Analyzing and calculating costs of procurement and suggesting effective methods to cut costs.
7. Overseeing the operation of the GEP Smart procurement software to ensure seamless and efficient procurement processes.
8. Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
9. Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities.
10. Ensuring adherence to all safety, compliance, and quality standards in the procurement process.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the Energy industry.
3. Proficiency in using procurement software, specifically GEP Smart.
4. Strong knowledge of supply chain and procurement processes and principles.
5. Excellent negotiation and strategic planning skills.
6. Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
10. Strong understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement.
